BigHit Music unveiled thrilling news to both the press and the ARMY on Sunday (February 18), revealing that BTS member J-Hope is gearing up to drop a new album titled “Hope on the Street Vol. 1.”
A Special Album and Docuseries:
Described as “a special album,” “Hope on the Street Vol. 1” features six tracks that promise to captivate fans with J-Hope’s signature style.
Accompanying the album is a six-part docuseries, “Hope on the Street,” which chronicles J-Hope’s dance journey as he immerses himself in the vibrant street dance cultures of Osaka, Paris, New York, Seoul, and Gwangju.
The album and docuseries delve deep into the dance theme, highlighting its significance as the cornerstone of J-Hope’s artistic expression and personal identity.
Preceding Mentions and Release Dates:
J-Hope had previously hinted at the project during an appearance on fellow BTS member Suga’s SUCHWITA show in July of the previous year.
The first episode of the docuseries is slated for release on Prime Video on March 27, with subsequent episodes airing every Thursday and Friday. Fans can anticipate the release of “Hope on the Street Vol. 1” on March 29 at 1 p.m. KST, with preorders commencing on February 19.
Building on Past Success:
This project follows J-Hope’s highly acclaimed 2022 solo album, “Jack in the Box,” which soared to No. 6 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
In August 2023, an expanded “HOPE Edition” of the album was unveiled, featuring original tracks alongside three live recordings from J-Hope’s groundbreaking performance at Lollapalooza 2022 in Chicago and two instrumental tracks.
Despite his musical endeavors, J-Hope continues to fulfill his mandatory 18-month military service, which commenced in April 2023.
