Machine Gun Kelly and Trippie Redd, both hailing from Ohio, have announced their collaboration on a full-length joint project titled “Genre: Sadboy,” set to be released on Friday, March 29.
This announcement adds excitement to an already busy release day, as Beyoncé is also dropping her “Cowboy Carter” project on the same date.
Collaborative Effort:
The two artists, known for their genre-blending styles, took to Instagram to share the news with their fans. MGK shared footage of them in the studio, hinting at the emo-rap vibes that will come with the project. Diplo also anticipated the collaboration, emphasizing the potential for greatness.
Past Collaborations:
This isn’t the first time MGK and Trippie Redd have teamed up. They’ve previously collaborated on tracks like “Candy” from MGK’s “Hotel Diablo” and “All I Know” from “Tickets to My Downfall.” Their chemistry on these tracks has set high expectations for their upcoming joint project.
“Genre:Sadboy” will mark both artists’ first project offering of 2024. While MGK’s last rap album was “Hotel Diablo” in 2019, Trippie Redd had a busy 2023 with multiple releases, including “A Love Letter to You 5” and the “Saint Michael V2” deluxe edition.
