As anticipation mounted ahead of the 2024 Super Bowl, where the Kansas City Chiefs would face off against the San Francisco 49ers, rapper Cardi B took a moment to share her thoughts on Taylor Swift’s relationship with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter on the set of her NYX Professional Makeup commercial scheduled to air during the game, Cardi B praised Swift for her public support of Kelce.
Cardi B Calls it Cute:
“I think it’s cute,” Cardi said of Swift and Kelce’s relationship, acknowledging Swift’s visible happiness. She noted Swift’s typically private approach to relationships, highlighting Swift’s willingness to openly display affection for Kelce.
“I feel like she’s private with her relationships, so she likes him a lot because she’s like, ‘I don’t give a f—. I’m going to kiss him. I’m going to touch him. I’m going to kiss him! Yeah, I’m here. Yeah, I’m taking a jet to see my man.'”
Cardi B Talks Super Bowl Commercial and Excitement for Usher’s Halftime Show:
In addition to discussing Swift and Kelce’s relationship, Cardi B shared insights into her Super Bowl commercial for NYX Professional Makeup.
This marks her third Super Bowl commercial, following previous spots for Pepsi in 2019 and McDonald’s in 2023. The rapper stars in NYX’s latest ad, promoting the brand’s “Duck Face” lip product, which promises “bigger” and “plumper” lips.
Not a Football Fan, Says Cardi B:
While Cardi admitted she’s not a huge football fan, she expressed excitement for Usher’s halftime show performance. “He has come back stronger than ever,” she remarked, highlighting the rigor and dedication Usher brings to his performances.
“My choreographer has worked with Usher before, and he said that he is very strict [and] takes his routine seriously, and that’s why I feel like his shows are so amazing.”
