Mere moments after gracing screens alongside Emmy-winning actor Tony Hale in a side-splitting Verizon commercial during Super Bowl 2024, Beyoncé made waves with the revelation of the second act of her highly-anticipated three-act project, initially announced back in 2022.
Beyoncé Offers a Glimpse into Act II Project:
On Sunday (February 11), the iconic “Cuff It” singer took to her official Instagram page to share a cryptic teaser. In the teaser, an unidentified woman, presumably Beyoncé herself, ignites a car with a license plate bearing the inscription “Texas Hold’ Em.”
The scene transitions to an empty road as the woman drives off before cutting to a group of astonished men gazing skyward. Their focus? A billboard featuring a red lingerie-clad Beyoncé in a provocative pose.
Accompanied by the melodic strumming of finger-picked guitars, Beyoncé’s vocals serenade: “This ain’t Texas, ain’t no hold ’em. So lay our cards down, down, down, down.” The teaser concludes with a black screen displaying “Act II, 3.29.”
Fans Anticipate Beyoncé’s Next Musical Chapter:
Beyoncé’s official website mirrors the teaser, highlighting the same date of March 29. The “Music” section of the website unveils Act II, featuring an array of empty credits and clean and explicit tabs.
Notably, two track titles — “Texas Hold’ Em” and “16 Carriages” — are listed as the opening tracks of the record. Both tracks are currently available for streaming on TIDAL and YouTube.
With references to her native Texas and the country-infused sound of the new snippet, speculation arises regarding Beyoncé’s potential foray into country music.
Act II follows the success of her seventh solo studio album, “Renaissance,” which debuted atop the Billboard 200 and spawned chart-topping hits like “Break My Soul” and “Cuff It.” The accompanying Renaissance World Tour, grossing over $579 million, solidified Beyoncé’s status as a global powerhouse.
