Sony Music Publishing’s administration division based in Nashville is gearing up for a significant move to the heart of the city’s vibrant music scene.
According to a source confirmed by Billboard, the division will transition from its current downtown location to the 17th + Grand building on Nashville’s iconic Music Row.
The relocation, scheduled for later this year, signifies a strategic shift to bring the administration division closer to Sony Music Publishing Nashville’s creative hub.
New Location and Facilities:
The administration division of Sony Music Publishing, which currently occupies space at 424 Church Street downtown, will soon settle into a spacious 24,000-square-foot area on the eighth floor of the 17th + Grand building.
This move provides ample room for operations and positions the division close to SMP Nashville’s creative office at 8 Music Square West.
The 17th + Grand building offers an array of amenities, including a roof terrace, club-level fitness facilities, locker rooms, and a conference center.
Additionally, the building hosts various tenants, such as property management company Carter-Haston and City National Bank, fostering a dynamic business environment.
Impact on Nashville’s Music Scene:
The relocation underscores Sony Music Publishing’s commitment to fostering collaboration and innovation within Nashville’s thriving music industry.
With acclaimed songwriters like Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, Gabby Barrett, and Kane Brown among its roster, Sony Music Publishing Nashville continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the nation’s music landscape.
Recent Music Industry Moves in Nashville:
Sony Music Publishing’s relocation follows a trend of significant moves within the Nashville music community. In recent years, Universal Music Group Nashville relocated to its current location at 222 2nd Ave. S.
The Academy of Country Music also shifted its headquarters from California to Nashville’s Wedgewood-Houston area, reflecting the city’s growing prominence in the country music sphere.
Looking ahead, AEG Presents and CAA are poised to join the Nashville Yards development, further solidifying Music City’s status as a music and entertainment industry hub.
