After landing its first nomination this year, the superproducer believes his stepdad’s bad deserves to be glorified in Cleveland.

Renowned music producer Mark Ronson has emerged as a vocal advocate for the inclusion of Foreigner in the esteemed Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

In a heartfelt Instagram video shared on Tuesday (Feb. 20), Ronson expressed his fervent support for the iconic rock band’s long-overdue recognition, highlighting their significant contributions to the music industry.

Ronson’s Personal Connection to Foreigner

Reflecting on his formative years in the studio, Ronson reminisced about the profound impact Foreigner had on his career and musical journey.

As the stepson of Foreigner’s guitarist Mick Jones, Ronson shared intimate memories of witnessing the band’s creative process firsthand, shaping his aspirations to become a record producer.

Praise for Foreigner’s Musical Legacy

Ronson lauded Foreigner’s distinctive sound, characterized by dynamic guitars, powerful percussion, layered synths, and captivating vocals.

He commended the band’s enduring influence and cultural significance, citing their impressive record sales exceeding 80 million albums and their status as perennial favorites on classic rock radio stations.

Expressing Disbelief at Foreigner’s Delayed Recognition

Expressing astonishment at Foreigner’s prolonged absence from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Ronson questioned the delay in acknowledging their indelible impact on the genre.

Despite being eligible for induction since 2002, this year marks Foreigner’s first nomination, prompting Ronson to advocate for their rightful place among music’s elite.

Foreigner’s Storied Career

Formed in New York in 1976, Foreigner quickly rose to prominence with chart-topping hits from their self-titled debut album, including “Cold as Ice,” “Feels Like the First Time,” and “Long, Long Way From Home.”

Their subsequent albums, such as 1978’s “Double Vision,” solidified their status as arena rock icons with smash hits like “Hot Blooded” and “Blue Morning, Blue Day.”

The Impact of Ronson’s Advocacy

Ronson’s impassioned plea for Foreigner’s

induction underscores the band’s enduring influence and cultural resonance.

With his advocacy, Ronson shines a spotlight on Foreigner’s remarkable journey and advocates for their rightful place in music history. As fans eagerly await the Hall of Fame induction announcement, Ronson’s advocacy amplifies the band’s legacy and celebrates their profound impact on rock music.
