Taylor Swift surprised fans during her Eras Tour show in Melbourne by announcing a second version of her upcoming 11th album, titled “The Bolter.”

This limited-edition release features an all-new cover and an exclusive bonus track of the same name, along with the tagline “You don’t get to tell me about sad.”

Double the Options for Swifties

Known for their enthusiasm, Taylor Swift fans now have two versions of “The Tortured Poets Department” to choose from, and they’re likely to embrace both editions eagerly.

Release Details

“The Bolter” version of the album is set to drop on April 19, coinciding with the release date of the original edition. Fans can already preorder the album in CD, cassette tape, and vinyl formats.

Surprises at the Melbourne Show

The announcement of “The Bolter” came amidst Swift’s performance at the Melbourne Cricket Grounds stadium, where she treated fans to surprise performances of acoustic renditions of “Red” and the Midnights bonus track “You’re Losing Me” on the piano. She expressed that “You’re Losing Me” is one of her personal favorites.

Reflections on Songwriting

Swift took a moment during her performance to reflect on the significance of songwriting in her life, especially during the creation of “Tortured Poets” over the past two years.

She shared that this album holds a special place for her, stating, “I’ve never had an album where I needed songwriting more than I needed it on Tortured Poets.”

Origins of “Tortured Poets”

Taylor Swift initially announced “The Tortured Poets Department” while accepting the best pop vocal award for Midnights at the 2024 Grammys on February 4.

Since then, she has unveiled the album’s tracklist, which includes 16 core songs and exciting collaborations with artists such as Florence + The Machine and Post Malone.
